Photosolve

Photosolve

Since Photosolve was quite a small startup, I got the chance to work directly under the founder. I had never built a chrome extension before this project. So I had to learn it on the go. I was told to code the frontend of some new features and worked from an existing codebase. The codebase was still in plain Javascript and the structure was all over the place so it was quiet a challenge. So I proposed to revamp the chrome extension: Create it from the bottom up using React to make it more scalable and also create the frontend side of the new features. Which the founder approved.

Since this was my first time working on a real product that has quite many users. I had a handful of challenges when I was working on it. The development pace was pretty fast for me at the time. I was also pretty busy with thesis. As a matter of fact, I wasn't able to meet the deadline at one point. But the founder helped me and kept pushing me to bring out my best. Aside from the technical skills I learned from this project, I also learned a lot about time management and accountability. It was pretty tiring and to be honest, I wasn't fully satisfied with the end product, but hey, this is no doubt a precious experience for me.
